As a HR Generalist in a Smule you would take on a variety of responsibilities to support both the HR department and the overall employee experience. Key areas of focus would include:

Recruitment and Talent Acquisition: The HR Generalist assists in sourcing, screening, and selecting candidates for both technical and non-technical positions. They work closely with hiring managers to understand the specific skills needed for roles and may conduct initial interviews, coordinate interview schedules, and help with the onboarding process. They also maintain relationships with recruitment agencies, attend job fairs, and help promote the company’s employer brand to attract top talent.


Benefits Administration: They are responsible for the day-to-day management of employee benefits programs such as health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks. This includes assisting employees, answering questions, and resolving any issues related to benefits. The HR Generalist works closely with external providers to ensure smooth administration and may also gather feedback from employees to suggest improvements.


Legal Compliance: The HR Generalist ensures that the company complies with all relevant employment laws and regulations. This includes staying up to date on federal, state, and local laws, assisting in drafting and enforcing HR policies, and ensuring that hiring practices and employee documentation meet legal standards. They may also assist with audits and HR recordkeeping to maintain compliance.


Training and Development: A key part of the role involves supporting employee training initiatives. The HR Generalist helps identify training needs across the company and assists in organizing workshops, e-learning programs, or external training sessions. They may coordinate onboarding training for new hires, track employee progress through training programs, and gather feedback to continually improve the training experience.


Management Assessments and Performance Reviews: The HR Generalist assists in the implementation and coordination of management assessments and employee performance reviews. This includes gathering performance data, ensuring that feedback is delivered consistently, and helping managers develop action plans for employee growth and development. They may also provide support in creating performance evaluation templates, tracking key performance metrics, and identifying potential areas for improvement across departments.


In summary, the HR Generalist plays a supportive role in building and maintaining a strong workforce by focusing on recruitment, benefits administration, legal compliance, training initiatives, and performance assessments. They help foster a productive work environment while ensuring that the company stays compliant with regulations and best practices.
